Who Done It? A Murder Mystery

A man was found murdered on Sunday morning. His wife immediately called the police. The police questioned the wife and staff and got these alibis:

The Wife said she was sleeping.
The Butler was cleaning the closet.
The Cook was making breakfast.
The Maid was getting the mail.
The Gardener was watering the flowers.

The police instantly arrested the murdered. Who did it and how did the police know?

Hint: No, they were not psychic.

Shopkeeper's Birds

I am the owner of a pet shop. If I put in one parrot per cage, I have one bird too many. If I put in two parrots per cage, I have one cage too many. How many cages and parrots do I have?








A pet store owner has a parrot with a sign on its cage that says "Parrot repeats everything it hears". Andrew buys the parrot and for two weeks he speaks to it but it doesn't say a word. He returns the parrot but the shopkeeper says he never lied about the parrot. How can this be?

A Problem With My Lamp

You are standing in front of a room with one light bulb inside of it. You cannot see if it is on or off. Outside the room there are 3 switches in the off positions. You may turn the switches any way you want to. You stop turning the switches, enter the room and know which switch controls the light bulb. How?

Okay, I do actually have a real problem with the lamp in my living room: I don't have one. It's very dark in here.
